My Own Personal Myth
As part of my training as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist I went through a therapeutic journey of my own which I feel changed my life dramatically. Afterwards I wanted to express this transformation in some way and so I wrote a story about my own experience.
The story is my own personal myth and is written in the form of a multiple embedded metaphor which is a therapeutic method devised by Milton Erikson, (an influential psychiatrist, psychologist and hypnotherapist of the twentiest century, often called ‘The father of modern hypnotherapy’).
When I wrote my own personal myth I didn’t intend that it would be listened to by others, but I’m posting it here just to give you an idea of the form these stories take (although yours will of course be completely individual to you).
